Commercial and Industrial Designer

B&W Tek has an immediate opening for a commercial and industrial designer position and is looking for a qualified graduate who takes initiative, works well in a team, and communicates effectively to join us as we continue to grow and expand in the area of mobile spectroscopy.

Job Responsibilities:
The designer needs to work with the engineering team under the guidance of the Director of Engineering to ensure quality in the design and functionality of B&W Tek products.

  • Come up with commercial and industrial design by studying system requirements.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of design ideas by using 3D modeling and analytical software and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and material science.
  • Realize and optimize the product design with maximum manufacturability, ideal user interface, safety, and minimum cost while preserving its core engineering functionality
  • Testing finished products and system capabilities; confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation processes and documentation.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 1-2 years or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical design with strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks is a must.
  • Experience with metals and specialty materials manufacturing. Experience with injection molding is a plus.
  • Experience in 3D prototyping is a plus

  • Assembly Technician (Opto-mechanical)

    Account Manager – SAFETY AND SECURITY

    Job Description:
    The account manager will be responsible for sales of B&W Tek’s handheld and portable products as mobile solutions into the safety and security market with an emphasis on federal contracts and sales to government organizations. This includes expertise in bid processes and collaborating to deliver a winning strategy. The account manager will meet sales revenue and sales profitability. In this role, the individual will work with follow up with all sales leads as well as prospect, and develop relationships and new markets to grow the business.

    Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

    • Sales to government agencies at national and state level, including contract negotiation and working with team to submit bids.
    • Sales forecasting and reporting for products and services through CRM system
    • Conducting customer demonstrations and assisting in customer training programs.
    • Develop product expertise to sell solutions to customers including products and services.
    • Propose marketing activities and assist in creating effective sales collateral for lead generation and sales
    • Develop partnerships as a means to build brand awareness and expand sales across safety, security and national defense communities (Law Enforcement, DOD, Homeland Security and State, Local and Federal Government entities).
    • Attend industry functions, including conferences and association events, and contribute information and feedback on upcoming market trends

    Business Development Manager – SAFETY AND SECURITY

    Job Description:
    B&W Tek is looking for a motivated business development manager to develop and implement growth strategies for the achievement of revenue goals with our mobile solutions in the safety and security sector. Successful applicants should be team players with international business know-how, and understand how to identify new market opportunities and work with the team to realize those opportunities for the company. We’re especially looking for someone with experience in the safety and security market with great communication skills, who will work with regional account managers, marketing, technical staff, and management in growing the business.

    Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

    • Develop the global market and execute a global business strategy for B&W Tek’s mobile spectroscopy solutions for the safety and security market.
    • Grow the US and international sales and distributions channels working with regional account managers to bring B&W Tek to the leading positon in handheld Raman in safety and security in line with the overall B&W Tek organizational objectives.
    • Perform market research to identify new opportunities and engage with team to establish strategies for pursuing those new opportunities.
    • Identify and respond to tenders for in the safety and security sector, coordinating efforts with distribution channel to gain sales.
    • Develop partnerships with national and international channels as a means to build brand awareness and expand sales across global safety, security and national defense communities with appropriate international distribution channels. (Law Enforcement, DOD, Homeland Security and State, Local and Federal Government entities).
    • In conjunction with Marketing, support effective marketing plans in terms of advertising, promotion, website, tradeshows to create BD opportunities and overall product demand.
    • Attend industry functions, including conferences and association events, and contribute information and feedback on upcoming market trends.
    • Evaluate and communicate competitive products and companies. Suggest sales and marketing strategies to counter competitive offerings.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors’ Degree in business, marketing, or related degree
    • Minimum 5 years working in a business role, preferably with international responsibilities
    • Knowledge of the safety and security market and familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures

    Instrument Development Engineer – Software

    • Develop and maintain software systems for portable instruments.
    • Develop programs on Linux, Android, and Windows platforms.
    • Assist in producing software system specifications.
    • Build prototypes, products, and systems for testing.
    • Provide corrective actions on software defects and issues.
    • Create and maintain system product documentation.
    • Collaborate with firmware/hardware engineers on product enhancements and whole systems.

    Basic Qualifications:
