Tip of the Week: 7/11 Large Bottle Adaptor

When measuring Raman spectra of samples in large containers, the curvature and thickness of the glass or plastic container can cause interference when using traditional point and shoot style Raman probes.   For this reason, you should always use the large bottle adaptor, such as the one that comes standard with the NanoRam® handheld Raman spectrometer.  The adaptor has a longer working distance which allows the laser to focus deeper into the container and a curved light shield that reduces interference from ambient lighting, allowing you to collect the best possible Raman spectrum through large containers.
