The BPX100 is a fiber coupled 5W pulsed xenon flash lamp with a spectral output of 185 - 2000nm, complete with an internal power supply and trigger circuitry. By passing an electrical current through a Xenon gas, the BPX100 produces both continuous and line spectra. The current is supplied by a charged capacitor capable of discharging large amounts of energy in a short period of time. With its low pulse-to-pulse variations and long operating life characteristics, the BPX100 is ideal as an excitation light source for fluorescence spectroscopy. These characteristics also make the BPX100 ideal for reflectance and transmittance spectrophotometry in the UV region.
