Product Specialist – Spanish Fluent

We are proud to be a global leader in handheld and portable Raman instrumentation as well as in other spectroscopic solutions. We are looking to add a Product Specialist to help us as we continue to grow and expand. If you are passionate about learning, contributing to a team, and developing great spectroscopic instrumentation for a variety of applications that provide value to our customers, B&W Tek is the place for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute product ideas based on customer and application interests
  • Identify customer problems and work with the project design team to create functional requirements, prototypes and verification plans
  • Coordinate and participate in prototypes and/or products performance verification testing and release processes with relevant departments for product launch
  • Perform market analysis on competing products and brands
  • Analyze market and industry trends and conditions
  • Analyze feasibility, cost, and return on investment for product ideas
  • Conform to the budget requirements for projects
  • Assist in the transfer to production of successful prototypes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a analytical chemistry, physics, or engineering preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience in the area of spectroscopy and applications is desired
  • Hands-on successful past project experience required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and documentation
  • Excellent team work
  • Knowledge of spectroscopy market trends is a plus
  • Creative and passionate about creating solutions to customer problems
  • Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time
  • Flexible to travel internationally as required for the job

Controller

The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Management

  1. Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  2. Manage outsourced functions such as benefits etc
  3. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
  4. Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
  • Transactions
  1. Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  2. Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  3. Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
  4. Process payroll in a timely manner
  5. Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  6. Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  7. Maintain the chart of accounts
  8. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  9. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Reporting
  1. Issue timely and complete financial statements
  2. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  3. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  4. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  5. Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  6. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  7. Provide for a system of management cost reports
  8. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  9. Prepare monthly consolidated financial statement for CFO and the parent company
  • Compliance
  1. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  2. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  3. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily in an office environment. Will be expected to travel as needed to company subsidiaries, as well as to potential acquirees to conduct due diligence. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.

Technical Support Technician

B&W Tek is looking for a Technical Support Technician who can work directly with our customers to make sure that they feel that B&W Tek has their backs. The position requires thinking on the fly to understand and extract the essence of customer issues and being able to walk them through potential fixes. The Technical Support Technician will also document the interactions to ensure that no customer falls between the cracks. If you enjoy working with your hands to solve problems while talking to people from around the world, this is the job for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate quickly and effectively to customers and distributors around the world.
  • Complete full documentation of all tasks performed in a Service/Repair or Support cases.
  • Improving and documenting processes/SOPs to become more efficient in the day to day activities.
  • Collaborate internally with other departments to share feedback from customers.
  • Performing yearly services and/or repair on small electrical devices.

Qualifications:

  • Must have an Associates degree minimum in a technical field (chemistry, physics, or engineering; Bachelors preferred). Candidates must demonstrate outstanding motivation to learn more every day.
  • Must have a yearning for positive personal growth.
  • Candidates should be adaptable to a dynamic multicultural work environment.
  • Strong basic knowledge on how to navigate a computer.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills are a must.
  • Strong planning skills are highly desired.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team is required.
  • Some travel may be required
