Step 2: Choose the Top Tier

Why is the choice of the detection module important?

The second decision in designing your DIY Raman system is choosing the spectrometer performance tier. In the case of our 1064 nm DIY Raman system, the benefits of the highest level of florescence rejection also comes with lower strength Raman signal when compared to an equivalent 532 nm or 785 nm Raman system, so we offer our highest performance Research-Grade Tier.

The Top Tier

1064 nm is most commonly used for any samples that have strong fluorescence, such as hazardous materials, illicit drugs, botanicals, and highly colored compounds, such as paints and inks. We offer this product in our Research-Grade Tier to provide the highest quality Raman data.

Research-Grade Tier

Our 1064 nm Research-Grade Tier provides our best fluorescence rejection, with a major boost in throughput with our unique high-throughput (HT) mode.  We integrate an ultra-low-noise InGaAs array with deep cooling to -20 °C for a significant noise reduction. This is the ideal platform for cutting-edge research requiring the highest level of sensitivity for the widest range of applications.

1064 nm DIY Raman system provides fluorescence-free high -quality Fingerprint Raman data.
1064 nm DIY Raman provides lower resolution but higher SNR performance than our 785 nm Professional Tier CCD system.
